Adams Top 5 Pod Sites by Adamzworld

Print on demand (POD) sites are very popular today in age. I think its a great blessing to have them available for artist. Your are now in touch with the world. I remember when there was no such thing as the internet. It was a lot harder back then. But now everything is at your fingertips and with the click of a button. There are a lot of sites that offer this platform, but which one works the best. I can go hours talking about it and the details. But for now, I'm going to just list my top 5 and give a few cents of my opinion on them. So lets start it off from the best to the least. Least is not bad, but the top is a bit better. I use over 18 different ones and counting. So here we go!

1. Redbubble

By far the best. Not just based on sales, but the over all from the experience and what they offer for artist. I have had my account for several of years and its never let me down. They continue to grow and get better every year. I could put pictures and videos on my front page. I can write blogs. I can join groups. They offer so much. If your going to sign up for one, make sure its this one first.

2. Soicety6

Now this is another great site. I love the presentation of this site. Love the feel of it. Really based on fine art and paintings. It also has a mix of other styles as well. They really take care of the artist with a lot of info and help. User friendly and quick upload setting. Making sales on it is great. Love the interaction they have set with other artist.

3. Teepublic

I was contacted by this site years ago. It look more geared toward video games and movies. But I gave it a try with my style of ART. Guess what!  I blew up on it. This site is very very very active. I love that they send you templates to help promote sales and they help out artist to. I made a great amount of sales and they sent me a FREE T-shirt of my choice.

4. GrabYourDesign

This  is another site that I was contacted by. Never heard of them, have you? I gave it a try and didn't know what to expect. I worked hard on it and the return was mind blowing. There not as active, but sales are a lot more rewarding than most. Never a dull month.

5. Zazzle

This is a site that has been around for a long time. I hear so many things about this site. That it's tough and you don't make any real sales from it. Ummmm... All I have to say is. The harder the work, the bigger the reward. In a short period of time doing 4 digits. This site requires time and patience. But the reward is good.

These are my top 5 POD sites.  I have a lot more favorites and would love to share much more info on each. If you are just starting out on one site. My advice would be, be patient.  Load, create, load and create. Repeat, repeat, repeat. You have to be active. You have to promote and share. Interact with others. Also run test.  Would love to share more, but this will be in further blogs or upcoming videos with the details. I have been working on these sites for a long time and want to help others succeed.

I love music and I have a few artist that I really follow. One of them is Michael Jackson. In the past I have created fan Art of him. I created some old pieces of him with vector art, but not with acrylic paint. I had this interest of creating a design with paint. Not using color, but with black and white. Michael Jackson is known for many things other than his music. Its his dance moves, his dress style. The way he carries himself as a king in a royal fashion. We can't forget about the socks and the glove he wears. Also that hat and the list goes on.  I like when he does his pose of kicking up his leg in the air. Having a portrait of someone is a lot better when there is action involved with it. You can really feel it. So I chose a style that I thought worked. I emphasized on the body gesture and the body portions. Exaggerating his arms and legs to give it a good stretched feeling. I like making my backgrounds distorted a bit. Where its like a blur of something back there.  But the main focus should be the subject of the painting. There are ways of doing this with color. But if its black & white,  you can just add some distortion. I also like to pay attention to detail. Making sure there is enough to get the viewers eyes moving along. I had a lot of fun creating this one piece. I know this wont be the last one I do of him. I still have a few other music artist that I would like to do.Untitled by Adamzworld

Here’s a painting I did of Harley Quinn. I have done a few pieces of fan art before, but I wanted to try something that had more color to it. Harley Quinn‘s character in the movie suicide squad was a bit different from her old style. Her old style was a red and black outfit. In the movie she’s in a colorful outfit this time. There’s a lot more detail that has to go into this painting. I love the detail. I feel the more detail, the more work and the more challenge. I like creating a background that blends colors and a lot of mixtures at the same time. Keeping part of the subject pink, purple and blue’s. Some real chill colors that go together. On part of her face she has make up that’s washing off from her eyes. I actually added water to give it that effect. To let it drip. Adding water to my acrylic painting is just another technique I use to soften up the blend and to create the drip effect. Creating the fence in the background took some time since it’s a chain-link fence, it takes a while to work it but it was fun creating it. Like I said it’s a challenge and I’m up for it. I don’t usually do a lot of portrait of people, usually animals and nature. But I’m starting to get back into doing other things outside the box. I might do a few more fan art pieces, maybe Batman. Well, will see what my creative mind has in store.

Here is a painting that I did of 2 Pac Shakur. This was created by using acrylic paint on canvas. This is not the first time creating an art piece of him. I actually did a vector art rendering of him and one made from markers. He is an inspiration to my work and also a motivator. I have been a big fan of him since I was a kid. There are many things that are really like about him. This painting was to be not of color, but in black-and-white. Black-and-white tends to give a different feel, a different mood. Just his pose alone gives you a sense of questioning. What is going through his mind? What is he thinking? I like that pose. He was also a thinker and a outspoken person. I tried something different with this canvas. I usually work on a 20 inch size, but now I’m working with something a lot smaller. The canvas is not that wide. It’s more tall and vertical. I like trying something new. Such as working with color all the time and now working without color is just another form that I’m testing out. I might do a couple more paintings without color. I’m really digging it. A lot of ideas are popping up into my head. Seems like that every day. It is just lots of fun to create artwork and share with other fellow artist and fans.

Mural Painting

2 min read
After having an interview at the Accelerated radio station to talk about my artwork. I had the opportunity to create a mural for the station. I was more than happy to create a masterpiece on their wall. I spoke with the host of the show and I had the opportunity to speak with the owner of the station. The creation was to be their logo and then urban feel to go around it. So I came up with something very simple but a bit detailed. I added a silhouette style that had a very clean look to it. My idea was to promote music, style, urban And radio feel. This is a fairly large mural. I created by using acrylic paint and used several brushes to create the design. I got a lot of good feedback when it was complete, even the owner was very impressed. Overall I had a good time and loved making a happy creation. It had been a while since I have created a mural. But it seems that your talents never go away. It’s all natural and is a second nature. It didn’t take me that long to do it, only because of the experience I had over the years. But when I did first start doing large size paintings, there was a lot of learning to do. I didn’t need scaffold for this project, just a stepstool so I can reach to the highest point. Didn’t require that much color, only black red and white. So this actually made the process a lot quicker. Working with multiple colors takes a lot more time and a lot more work. I can actually say that I would love to do another one, it’s very pleasing to create something about size and be happy with the end results. Have you painted a mural? What are your experiences? The goods and the bad. Would love to hear from other artists. Message me and I would love to hear your stories.
